"We have given to Child and Family
Services over the years because we believe in the work of the agency. We have seen its
remarkable accomplishments."
- Gordon
Cornwell,
former Board
President
&
Trustee
Child and Family
Services of Northwestern Michigan is known for its excellence in helping
children and families in crisis. Since 1937, we have found adoptive and foster care homes
for infants and children. The generosity of individuals, businesses and organizations has
allowed us to expand services in response to new problems facing people. We now also
provide emergency shelter care, family counseling, pregnancy counseling, special needs
adoption and other community services. As pressures on families intensify, it is
increasingly important that future generations have us to turn to for help in meeting
lifes challenges.
Because they believe
in causes that help children there are many reasons
people choose to make a gift to us: to honor a friend or loved one, to show
appreciation for help received as a child, or to mark a special occasion, event or
milestone.
Donors may designate
gifts for a special purpose.
Unrestricted gifts are used in the area of
greatest need. You may prefer to direct your gift to the Child and Family Services
Endowment Fund at either the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation (www.gtrcf.org) or the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Community
Foundation (www.petoskey-harborspringsfoundation.org).
Gifts made through the foundations qualify for the Michigan Community Foundation Income
Tax Credit, and may be made in a variety of ways including cash, securities, real estate,
bequests, and charitable trusts.
When you make a
donation or bequest, you join a select group of donors who share your
concern for the welfare of Northwestern Michigans children and families. A gift to
us is one way people can assure that high quality, affordable services will be here for
future generations in our communities.
