Behavioral Health Services

The Behavioral Health Department at Child & Family Services provides counseling and support to people of all ages throughout northern Michigan. We offer counseling with trained and licensed therapists who help with a variety of issues, including:

major life events like death, divorce, and illness
traumatic experiences and PTSD
marital and family concerns
communication
parenting challenges
sexual abuse
substance abuse and addiction
adoption-related issues
pregnancy and birth counseling
building self-esteem
depression
bullying
stress and anxiety
anger
coping strategies
domestic violence

fathers-day-822550_960_720We provide counseling to children, youth, adults, families, and couples. Our Behavioral Health Department also offers supervised visitation and exchange, intensive family preservation services, and trauma assessment and treatment services.

Where appropriate, our counselors utilize a trauma-informed approach to treating children, adults, and families, as well as other evidence-based models of treatment. We are here to help define the problem and to provide the tools with which people can make a difference in their own lives.

When you call, we'll complete a short intake form with you, discuss payment and insurance options that are available to you, and schedule your first appointment. Contact us with any questions you have. We work with many insurance companies including Medicaid to accept payments for services.
