Free Legal Aid Clinic Volunteer Facilitator

Tuesdays at 5:30 pm

CFS Office (in the parking lot)

The Free Legal Aid Clinic (FLAC) needs some extra help to facilitate the virtual consultations with FLAC attorneys. Tasks include getting tablets to clients in their cars, sanitizing afterward, and helping clients with questions. All volunteers will be provided proper PPE and are expected to adhere to safety protocols. Volunteers are also fully vetted for this position, including background checks, and must be over 18 years old.

FLAC is an opportunity for individuals to receive private, free, and confidential legal advice and problem clarification from the attorneys from the Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association.​ Over 60 attorneys from the bar volunteer their time to the program and answer legal questions of all types. This services is made available by funding from Legal Services of Northern MichiganFLAC has been here to help since 1976. In 2019, 471 individuals were served and 70 attorneys volunteered their times-that is over 300 hours of pro-bono work!

More Volunteer Updates

  • Third Level Golf Outing at Elmbrook Golf Course, which is typically held in June, is postponed until 2021.

  • Tee Up Fore Kids at the Kingsley Club is still on the calendar for September 14.

  • Up North Home and Cottage Tours are going virtual! There will be no in person Home Tours this fall. Proceeds will still benefit CFS and the tour will launch on October 30.

  • Annual Appreciation Dinner is currently postponed until 2021.

  • Paper Angels is currently still on the calendar.
